We have used other brands that became mushy and really tared up our filter. This one seems to work better but still makes a small mess of the filter. I guess that's the nature of using carbon.
IMPORTANT: We ordered the 16 oz version, but received a 10 oz. When I called Petguys they were very good to work with. They said this was changed to a 10 oz by the mfgr. Without my complaining, they said they would just send another one out to me free of charge. That's great customer service!

the marineland black diamond premium activated carbon is in my mind the best on the market. i have tried other brands and my fish tank starts to get an odor. i switched to the black diamond and have never had a smell. i have a 150 gallon tank and its crystal clear. i swear by this product

Great product. Seems to last a little longer then some I've used. Always reliable and polishes water crystal clear. I use it in both fresh and marine tanks.
