Easy to Get Tape Roll ON, Hard to Get Tape Roll OFF!
July 17, 2011
This roller, which replaces the one I had for several years, is very sturdy. The tape rolls very easily and stays on the handle, which on the old unit was becoming more difficult as the little nubs that held the tape in place broke off over time. The new unit uses a different method to keep the tape roll on, but it also makes it much more difficult to remove.
I tried every which way to remove the used tape roll; squeezing at the top, pushing the top in while pulling the tape roll & so on, but it wasn't until I took out my utility knife and cut the cardboard roll that I was able to remove it. I may be missing something here, so I will continue to experiment over time.
So it seems to be one of those situations where the remedy to one problem just creates another one!
The tape itself is as good as ever and effective at removeing the fur of my big white cat off of everything.
The handle is comfortable to use and it is made very well. There is a useful hole at the base of the handle that makes it easy to hang on a small hook or to put a piece of string in there to then hang on larger hooks.
